Health and Wellness plays an important role in an an organization promoting employee morale, engagement, and satisfaction at work and home.
Our counselling always incorporates wellness in dealing with an employee or a family member’s specific needs in counselling. Wellness is an important component of the client’s mental health. Our initial assessment of a client includes assessing their life style and its impact on their well being. We recognize that depression or anxiety or even relationship issues require health and wellness for treatment success.
Clients who require specific assessment and treatment for nutrition, or smoking cessation are referred to a physician for physical assessment first and then to a relevant specialist. We will provide follow-up support.
We do not utilize a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to offering organizational wellness program.
To ensure a successful wellness program, we encourage:
- buy-in from union and management leadership.
- assessment of employee and family needs.
- ownership of the program by employees and management.
- effective communication strategies to normalize the program.
- evaluation and adaptation.
We provide relevant health and wellness articles for online publishing or organizational newsletters.
We have one hour workshops on wellness topics such as:
- Stress Management
- Conflict Resolution
- Family Relationships
- Dealing with difficult people
- Depression and coping strategies
- Addiction and the family
Additionally, we arrange for specialists to present one hour sessions on:
- Health Screening
- Responsible prescription usage
- Back pain
- Smoking cessation
